A seventh man was charged today with terrorism offences following a series of anti-terrorism raids in Birmingham.
West Midlands Police said: “A 20 year old man from Birmingham has this afternoon been charged with terrorism fundraising and with failing to disclose information.
“Mujahid Hussain is the seventh person charged in relation to a recent counter terrorism operation in the city.”
Four men have already been charged with plotting terrorist attacks in the UK.
Two others were also charged with failing to disclose information and another with terrorist fundraising.
The six have already appeared in court and have been remanded until October.
Those charged were: Irfan Nasser aged 30 of Doris Road in Sparkhill; Irfan Khalid aged 26 of Timbers Way in Sparkbrook; Ashik Ali aged 26 of White Street in Balsall Heath; and Rahin Ahmed aged 25 of Moorcroft Road, Moseley.
Also charged are Bahader Ali aged 28 of Turner Street, Sparkbrook, and Mohammed Rizwan of Asquith Road in Sparkbrook.
Irfan Nasser and Irfan Khalid are charged with intending to commit acts of terrorism in the UK between 25 December 2010 and 19 September 2001.
They are said to have received training in terrorism in Pakistan, which included bomb making, weapons and poison making.
Police claim that both recorded “martyrdom” videos and planned a bombing campaign and suicide bombings.
It is also alleged that they constructed explosive devices, recruited others and collected money for terrorism.
Ashik Ali is also said to have constructed a homemade bomb and stated his intention to become a suicide bomber.
Rahin Ahmed is charged with facilitating others to travel to Pakistan for terrorism training, collecting money for terrorism and “investing and managing money for terrorist acts”.
Bahader Ali is charged with failing to disclose that, between 29 July 2011 and 19 September 2011, he had knowledge that could have prevented an act of terrorism.
It is also said that he “entered into or became concerned in an arrangement as a result of which money or other property was to be made available to another, knowing or having reasonable cause to suspect that it would or might be used for the purposes of terrorism.”
Mohammed Rizwan is also charged with failing to disclose information about a planned act of terrorism.
A seventh man, a 20-year-old from Yardley who was arrested on Thursday, continues to be questioned.
The men will appear at West London Magistrates Court in Hammersmith on Monday.
Two of the men – Ashik and Bahader Ali – are brothers.
A woman was also arrested on suspicion of failing to provide information, though she has since been released.
